TRIOS produces a data file after running an experiment on your instrument. (For information on running experiments, see Setting Up Experiments).

In addition to TRIOS files (.tri), you can open and analyze data files with the following formats:

Orchestrator format files [.rad, .tad, .rsd]
Thermal Universal Analysis files
Rheology Advantage format files [.rsl]

Opening a Data File

To open an existing data file, follow these steps:

Click the TRIOS button in the upper left corner of the main window. A drop-down menu displays.
Select Open.
Browse to the location of your data file(s).
Select the appropriate file type:

TRIOS files (.tri)
Rheology Advantage Results files (.rsl)
Thermal files (*.*)
Orchestrator files (.tad, .rsd)
Orchestrator RAD files (.rad)
Text file (.txt)

Select one file or multiple files and click Open.

NOTE: To select multiple files, hold down the Shift key and click to select all of the files in a group, or hold down the CTRL key and click individual files.
A document panel opens, displaying the experimental procedure and steps associated with that data file.

How the opened file is displayed depends upon the status of the Load view settings checkbox in Options > User:

If the selection is checked, the file is displayed exactly how it looked when it was last saved, even if it was saved by a different user or on a different controller.
If the selection is unchecked, the file is displayed using the current display properties.

Closing a Data File

With a data file open, click the TRIOS button in the upper left corner of the main window. A drop-down menu displays.
Select Close.
You will be prompted to save any changes to the data file that have not already been saved. See Saving a Data File.

Navigating

To navigate between opened files, click on the data file name shown on the tabs at the top of the document panel. As you open more data files, you will be able to navigate easily between them by using the topmost tab.

To navigate between the different types of data file information, use the tabs at the bottom of the panel.

TRIOS keeps a list of your most recently opened files. Click the TRIOS button and choose the desired file name listed under Recent Documents.
